The Anchor - a ponder object for your desk
Need an anchor for your thoughts? We believe this square-edged this solid forged and waxed heavy steel object is caling and relaxing when viewed from atop your work space. Such substantial desktop weights were first described by the Forge in the Benedictine Abbey Königsmünster in Germany.
An object so simple, it suggests to look at it deeper, to reflect, to think in general, to mediate, to anchor your thoughts, to put a weight on them, to internalize.
This is also a simple solution to stimulate new thought.
We forge a raw piece of square-stock mild carbon steel to form the block, and a solid rod iron to forge a hook. A tubular channel is milled through the entire bloc, the hook is forged out of a solid rod and then welded in. The solid steel piece is grinded, power wire-brushed and waxed, to make it gentle to the touch.
