Cargo 1/2 Shorts - covering the knee
Rugged 1/2 leg shorts with cargo-pockets and a wide cut of the opening that ends right below the knees, the summer version of the ECHT Cargo pants. Made from surprisingly sturdy moleskin cotton and exceptional crafting. The 25oz per square yard cotton fabric is woven in Ibenbühren, Germany. The heavy fabric is valued by German craftsmen since centuries as it weathers years of hard labor. We asked Peter Werner in Bavaria to custom make our Cargo Shorts for us, with many practical features - custom made using measurements according to your individual specifications. Peters guild clothing company was founded in 1927. He is one of the last specialists in hand crafted work gear that specialize in traditional German guild clothing. For our line (check out our jeans!) we picked the extra heavy 25oz moleskin cotton, to get through tough jobs and cut to be least restrictive. Do not mix up with denim, where decent quality lies around 14oz. Because the fabric is so thick, it gets into the shape of your body. For crafting with this dense fabric, Peter uses his traditional Pfaff leather sewing machines. For the leather reinforcements around the pockets he uses a Dürkopp-Adler. To translate your measurements for the ECHT custom-made service, he uses CAD software and a plotter, that also guarantees reproducibility of our individual custom work.
Consider wearing them as utalitarian clothing versus fashion: washing as seldom as possible, repairing and wearing them as long as you can. For this approach we offer repair service for you. You break them in, your wear them for years, we can repair them for you and even re-sell the ones that you do not need anymore.
Check the well crafted and useful features. With many reinforcements, to make them long lasting. Tough belt loops, an inch wide and almost indestructible, the wide back belt loop won´t come unlooped and keeps pants from gapping. Extra deep and reinforced front and back pockets, with a leather reinformenent of the opening. The mid-leg pockets are well thought out and loaded, right down to tuckable flaps, but they do not stick out to much and are not baggy. Check the photos for the waistband on the back - this cut can be worn with belts or with suspenders. The crouch area is wide for comfort and features small hidden vents that are reinforced and covered from the inside for better air exchange not offering views.
